Happy Pediatric Nurses Week!

5 Ways To Celebrate Pediatric Nurses

Here at KPG Healthcare, we’re proud to recognize the hard work of Pediatric Nurses! These nurses are a special group who provide compassion and care to young patients at their most vulnerable. This week is National Pediatric Nurses Week and we are excited to honor these professionals.

Hospitalization is scary for everyone, especially a child who is sick and in pain. Pediatric nurses hold a little one’s hand when they need that extra boost of courage, dedicating their long work days to promoting the health and well-being of each and every child they meet.

Want to show support? Here are a few ways you can celebrate National Pediatric Nurses Week!

Craft An Appreciation Board

What’s better than leaving sweet little notes or words of encouragement? Post pictures of your nurses with space to write and draw around them! Include some markers and pens for other nurses, patients and even visitors to share their personal stories and why they love pediatric nurses. Big or small, making time to appreciate their dedication can go so far!

Throw A Raffle

Who doesn’t love a raffle? Keep it inexpensive, but fun! Some great ideas for the winners could be movie tickets, coffee shop gift cards, a new FitBit or even a stethoscope. Structure it however you like, just make sure to make the nurses feel extra special!

Spoil Them With Sweets

We all scream for ice cream! It’s so easy to get swept up in the bustling pace of the workday, so make sure to pause for the perfect reason: an ice cream social! Enjoy a sweet – and well-deserved – treat towards the end of your nurses’ shifts. Added bonus: you can use this opportunity to get to know your fellow staff members even better!

Give The Gift of Learning

It’s never too late to learn more for your career! Conduct Continuing Education seminars for the pediatric nurses in your hospital. All nurses need this for renewal of their licenses, and it’s a great way to stay up to date on the latest policy changes or courses.

Keep It Fun For the Kids

If you want to do something for the pediatric nurses, help out the kids! Plan a fun activity like face painting or a scavenger hunt to give the children a much-needed break from the hospital. The whole family can even join in on the fun!
